Safeguarding Statement

Last updated: 2026-05-04

Fairtime is built for youth football and we treat that seriously. Most of the safeguarding work at grassroots level is done by club welfare officers, FA-affiliated leagues, and managers themselves. Our job is to make sure the product doesn't make any of that harder, and to actively avoid features that would.

What we do

  • Collect the minimum. Squad records hold name and squad number. Position, availability, and coaching notes are optional and stored only for the manager who recorded them.
  • No DOB, no addresses, no photos. The product does not ask for or store any of these.
  • No public rankings. Fairtime never publishes player-level data outside the manager's own squad and the parent of that specific player (via the parent-link flow).
  • Parent-link is one-way and revocable. Parent links let a parent set their child's availability without an account; the link can be rotated or revoked from the squad page at any time.
  • In-product safeguarding nudges. Match Notes, AI-import (now removed), and team-emblem upload all carry inline copy reminding the manager not to paste medical / safeguarding / contact details into the product.
  • Account deletion is real. The Delete Account button on your profile cascades a full removal of your team and every player, fixture, and match record. No soft-delete shadow.

What we don't do

  • We don't communicate with players or parents directly. Match-day messages are produced as copy-pasteable text the manager shares via WhatsApp / email / the team's own channels.
  • We don't publish team rosters or fixture results to the open web.
  • We don't recommend players for transfer, scouting, or external selection.

If you have a safeguarding concern

Safeguarding concerns about a child should always be raised with your club welfare officer, your league's child welfare officer, the FA (0800 169 1863), or the NSPCC (0808 800 5000). Fairtime is a planning tool, not a safeguarding reporting service.

If you have a concern about how Fairtime itself handles data, or you want a record of your team's data exported or removed, contact: safeguarding@fairtime.football

For data handling more broadly see the Privacy Policy.
